Home Gym Design

The Gym Starts With the Plan.

TM Fitness plans home gyms around the space, the way you train, and the equipment the room can support—then coordinates sourcing and installation to carry the design through.

Why Design First

The Equipment Should Follow the Plan.

A home gym has to balance training needs, equipment dimensions, clearances, movement, and the limitations of the space. TM Fitness works through those decisions before equipment is selected and ordered.

The result is a gym designed around how it will actually be used, from the way you move through the space to the way you train.

What We Consider

Every Gym Starts With Different Requirements.

Fitness and training experience informs how we evaluate the space, equipment, and way the gym will actually be used.

  • 01

    The Space

Room dimensions, existing conditions, access, circulation, and the usable training area all influence what the gym can support.

  • 02

    The Training

How the client trains, who will use the gym, and the types of training the space needs to support help shape the layout.

  • 03

    The Equipment

Equipment is evaluated for function, dimensions, placement, and how each piece works within the overall space.

  • 04

    The Experience

Movement between equipment, open training areas, sightlines, and overall flow are considered so the gym works naturally during an actual workout.

The Process

From First Conversation to Finished Gym.

  1. 01

    Discovery

We start with the space, training goals, equipment preferences, project timeline, and who will be using the gym.

  2. 02

    Planning

We develop the equipment layout, training zones, clearances, and overall flow based on the space and how it will be used.

  3. 03

    Design Review

The proposed gym is reviewed with the client and project team, using layouts or visualization when helpful to finalize the plan before equipment is ordered.

  4. 04

    Equipment & Sourcing

Equipment selections are finalized and sourcing is coordinated around the approved design, client preferences, and project requirements.

  5. 05

    Delivery & Installation

TM Fitness coordinates with vendors, delivery teams, installers, and the residential project team to carry the approved plan through installation.

Working With Your Project Team

The Fitness Specialist on the Project.

When a home gym is part of a new build or renovation, TM Fitness works alongside the existing project team to handle the fitness-specific planning and equipment decisions.

  • Interior Designers & Architects

We provide equipment selections, layouts, clearances, and fitness-specific information needed to help integrate the gym into the overall project.

  • Builders

We coordinate equipment selections, dimensions, delivery requirements, and installation details so the fitness portion of the project can be planned alongside the rest of the home.

  • Homeowners

If there is no existing project team, TM Fitness can work directly with the homeowner to plan the gym and coordinate the equipment portion of the project from design through installation.
